We always love to hear what our customer's are doing with their tartan fabric and the new Crafter's Corner blog series explores a few of the very clever things you are creating.
Based way up in Caithness David from Clan Clocks is a regular caller always looking for random tartans to create his beautiful clocks. He uses hand-crafted Scottish oak and fabrics woven in Scotland to make these rather unique time pieces. The weight of the fabric is not so important to David as the size of the pattern to ensure as much of the tartan shows as possible on the clock face.
Anne-Marie Emslie works under the name of My Highland Bothy inspired by the wee bothy that is next to her cottage that one day she hopes to turn into a gallery. Anne-Marie lives up in the hills of Scotland and when she isn't painting native Scottish animals she is out taking photos to inspire her work. Purple is our colour of the month for February so this particular piece of work is particularly apt!
