The return of the Mac! And our tartan version

Lisa Armstrong wrote in the Telegraph this weekend of the trench as "a panacea for all conceivable lifestyle ills" since the Forties. The Mac has of course come a long way since then but it has never lost it's appeal. Universally acknowledged as a must-have item for your wardrobe the beige trench coat does have the distinct advantage that it flatters any figure. Wear it belted or open, with a suit or a pair of jeans once you have one you wonder how you ever survived without it.
