Dundas Castle
A dramatic Castle estate hidden within the heart of Scotland, what more could you dream of for your perfect Scottish wedding location? Only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and even closer to the Firth of Forth, Dundas Castle is a secluded Scottish haven just made for your private wedding. We were lucky enough to spend 2 days here for our Spring Summer photoshoot and none of us wanted to leave!
About the Venue
Dundas Castle, home to Sir Jack and Lady Stewart-Clark is one of the top 5 Star Exclusive Use venues in Britain. Unlike a hotel, the Castle is booked in its entirety meaning you really will be the King and Queen of the castle.
The Castle itself is made up of 3 main buildings. The historic Auld Keep home to both the Stag Chamber, Armoury, Chapel and the tower with breath taking views over all three of the Forth bridges. The photo opportunities are endless and the backdrops a dream for any wedding videographer.
The main house was built in 1818 and has been home to the Stewart-Clark family since the late 1800s. An extravagant entrance hall sets the scene to the grandeur enclosed within the castle. But how will you keep your guests entertained within the castle? Fancy a quiet reading spot then head to the Library, or for something a little livelier the Billiards room will keep the Grooms Party entertained for hours and at the end of the night the grand piano within the blue room is perfect for a sing song. The main house also hosts the seventeen bedrooms on offer for you and your guests, each individually styled by Lady Lydia.
The Pavilion with it's floor to ceiling windows completes the trio of buildings and offers a large bright and fresh location to host your reception within.
Weddings at Dundas Castle
Whether it be a religious, humanist or civil ceremony, Dundas offer a number of spectacular settings for you to exchange your vows. For a small and intimate wedding the chapel within the Auld Keep with it's vaulted ceiling and exposed brickwork is perfect, follow this up with dinner just downstairs in the Stag Chamber seating just 20. For a larger celebration the Croquet Room within the main house is a classic choice before heading to the pavilion to host up to 200 guests.
Looking for a honeymoon close to home? The estate also hosts a remote and romantic boathouse on the loch or for something a little more adventurous why not go Glamping!
