Colour me tartan - Rose Quartz and Serenity

The Pantone colour of the year 2016 is Rose Quartz and Serenity and this soft introduction to colour in January sets the tone for the seasons ahead. This is the first time that two shades have been blended challenging traditional perceptions of colour association. I feel calm just looking at them.

Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

These colours are soothing and peaceful but also very clever from a fashion and design point of view in that they work beautifully with mid-tones as well as metallics and brights. Just imagine what you can do with your wardrobe or your home.

Our Spring collection is just beginning to unveil itself and we are on trend with plenty of light and sky blues and pinks. Pink is not a colour you immediately associate with tartan but there are some lovely shades once you look a little deeper into the sometimes overwhelmingly large collection available. Type "weathered" into the tartan finder and this will bring up the softer and more faded tones of the famous tartan red. My particular favourite is the MacLachlan Weathered and I desperately want to cover some chairs or a sofa in this tartan. For really pinky pinks then click the colour option on the tartan finder and peruse the shades....Kyle Pinkfor me please!
