Are there really tartan fish in the River Tweed?

A few months ago on a sunny Thursday afternoon the ScotlandShop team set out to explore a long held myth of the Scottish Borders - are there really tartan fish in the River Tweed?

Jack our intrepid blogger donned his Gordon Clan tartan suit and became the very best dressed fisherman the river Tweed has seen in a while. Ten year old Harry teamed wellies with his Black Watch waistcoat and trews and questioned the sanity of his mother as she stood on the banks and told the tale of the mighty tartan fish pulled from the depths of the river that divides England and Scotland. The Lee's Beat at Coldstream is world renowned for it's salmon and it wasn't long before there was a tug on the line. With great skill Jack reeled in what can only be described as the finest catch this century.

We recorded the action:

There may be some tartan fish up for grabs for special customers in the months to come. Let us know if you want to be our catch of the day!
