Colour me tartan - May is all about Tangerine

Burst into May! Our colour of the month is Tangerine.

Described by Interior Designer Carole King as "Fruity and zesty, tangerine can add a freshness to muddy or earthy colour schemes. Best used in small areas as an accent, it has the same effect as a vase of fresh flowers. It will draw the eye and elicit a smile each time you walk into the room".

To celebrate this fabulous colour we have brought together a few of our Tangerine favourites. From left to right are our Cashmere Cable Knit Socks (Lava) - so soft and with a comforting thickness you don't normally associate with cashmere, the statement Men's Tartan Jacket in Chattan Clan Ancient, the Body Shop Satsuma range - I have an obsession with the lovely smell that lingers in the bathroom long after you take a shower, our Tartan Sofa - let us inspire you with fabrics to upholster your dream tartan sofa, the Buchanan Brights cashmere scarf will brighten up any outfit and the Tusting signature WorkTote we have fallen deeply in love with. Described as a "seriously chic companion" the tangerine just makes it extra special ....well my birthday is just around the corner!

Final Tangerine Colour me tartan Tangerine

We do love our beautiful country and on our quest for tangerine we were captivated by professional Scottish landscape photographer Ian Cameron's image Tangerine Dream. He told us the photograph evolved from his love of Transient Light. And what exactly is Transient Light? Ian's special phrase for that short-lived moment when light, composition and subject combine to produce sublime landscape imagery. The result? Drama and emotion you don't expect from a simple landscape. This image could almost be Africa but it really is Nairn in the Highlands of bonnie Scotland.
