Katy Perry created a storm in her tartan dress at T in the Park last year and we missed her this year. Maybe she knew how much mud there was going to be! A tartan umbrella and pair of tartan wellies might have been more appropriate attire if you were in attendance. Kelly from our office is still raving about her weekend and rated Snow Patrol as the best performers. T in the Park is famous for being a showcase for homegrown Scottish talent and Fatherson on the BBC Introducing stage received rave reviews, alongwith The Maccabees drawing in a very large crowd to King Tuts so they will surely be headlining soon. RockNess in June was also damp and misty but Ed Sheeran's spectacular performance on the shores of the beautiful Loch Ness was enough to list anyone's spirits, with the festival closed in style by natives Biffy Clyro. Next up is the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival at the beginning of August with Scottish Indie stars Travis and The Wombats headlining. Surely the sun will be out by then! Another Scottish Indie band Frightened Rabbit have guaranteed their presence this year and with folk and soul and artists from all around the world this is the more mellow festival so get out your tartan picnic rugs and prepare for a fun weekend. We love the Tipi and Yurts accomodation on offer...not only because they include a piping hot shower! In addition to these bigger Scottish festivals there are so many traditional music, folk and soul weekends around this summer.
