Here is number two in our 3 ways to tie a scarf series! This time we have decided to go for something a little more unusual. We love this style of knot, a little quirky and will add something special to any outfit in your winter wardrobe. The Big Bow Knot looks quite complicated to tie but we have made a helpful step by step guide for you so you'll be an expert in no time!
We have used a Wool Tartan Stole as we think the width and weight of the woven fabric work well with this knot. The lovely purple tartan is Troon. The mill stopped weaving this tartan but we had so many requests from customers we now keep a great big roll in stock so you can have anything you like made up in it. You can use any scarf to create this knot but the longer the better and a nice pliable fabric makes it easier. Our Sash is nice and long and ideal for creating your bow.
With one end of the scarf longer than the other fold the end of the scarf up once, then fold it again so you have 4 layers.
Gather the fold of fabric in the middle and you start to get an inkling of the gorgeous bow you are about to create.
Loop the other end of the scarf under the folded end.
Loop the ends over the top of the folds, round the back and tuck the loose end through to form a knot. And this is the Big Bow Knot!
