This month is all about Clan Wallace and the rich tones of it’s

Michael Kors also combined red and green for his Autumn Winter ’18 collection with Wallace Modern suit jackets for ladies and a nod to the 70’s with Black Watch flared trousers. He brightened up the outfit with a yellow sweater over a wide collared white shirt. These classic garments can fit easily into both men’s and women’s workwear wardrobes and are easily mixed and matched with your existing solid colour garments.

If you have noticed in my previous style blogs (or indeed our On the Sofa episodes), I just love adding yellow into my outfits. So of course, I also have to mention the yellow in Michael Kors’ collection which featured the yellow of MacLeod Dress Modern. The contrasting tartans work well together as they both feature the same colours of red, yellow, and black. Michael Kors’ collection features extra-long scarves and tailored outerwear to create fun looks that fit the body well. To recreate these bold looks for ladies I suggest slim cut Wallace Modern trousers with a matching oversize tartan scarf, and a MacLeod Dress Modern Longline Jacket. Wrap your scarf round your neck once and let it hang down the front of your coat for an element of casual elegance in your look. Pop on a simple black top to calm the outfit down and simple black boots and you’re ready to brave the cold while you finish your Christmas shopping!

If you’re looking for a simple Wallace addition to your look, take inspiration from some winter street style images. A serape or oversized scarf is perfect over your coat or jacket for an alternative and stylish way to keep warm! Wrap your serape in the Wallace Modern tartan around your shoulders and let it hang open to reveal your outfit underneath. This works well for both men and women, and can also be worn inside for a touch of warmth around the dinner table too!

If you want to take it a step further, add matching heeled boots to your outfit for a subtly coordinated look. I’d recommend wearing this with a simple, solid colour outfit with neutral tones to let the bold tartan stand out!
