You can book an appointment in store to be measured using our online system below. We also offer a Tartan Consultation service if you would like to have dedicated time with a member of staff to find your family or clan tartan.
If you would just like to view tartan fabrics, interiors or clothing and do not require our measuring or tailoring service there is no need to make an appointment. Please just pop in and we are always available to help.
While we have as many fabric samples and garments in the showroom as possible it is always helpful if you can add a note if you are looking for a particular tartan or product so we can be fully prepared for your visit. If you have any questions or need an appointment out with the times offered please send us an email.
Our store is very accessible as part of the Socha Plaza, with a large free of charge parking lot right outside, ramped access, wide doorways and a spacious interior.

As soon as we settled on Albany as our new US home, we knew we had to design a tartan to represent the Scottish Community within Albany County. The Tartan will be used to celebrate the opening of our new US Store in the town of Colonie as well as highlighting the strong Scottish heritage found throughout all of Albany County. The colours for the Albany tartan are taken from the Albany County Seal, The Town of Colonie Seal & The City of Albany Flag. The sett was inspired by that of the Stewart Clan tartans in honour of the Duke of Albany, James Stuart who was a member of the House of Stuart a branch of Clan Stewart. An additional white stripe not found within the Stewart Clan tartans was added to create a saltire (Saint Andrew's Cross) within the design, to represent Scotland’s Patron Saint, St Andrew.
America is huge place, and we are but a wee Scottish company so where should we plant our flag? Derived from the Gaelic "Alba" meaning Scotland, and named after the Duke of York's Scottish title, "Duke of Albany" in 1664, there are of course lots of other reasons that came into play. Find out more on the blog.
You may have noticed that our new store is actually located in Loudonville, a suburb just outside of Albany. While this name might not sound quite as Scottish as Albany, don’t be so quick to imagine that we’ve not found a connection. To discover how it all started, let us first introduce you to John Campbell, 4th Earl of Loudoun.
The St. Andrews Society of Albany was founded in 1803 with the purpose of providing assistance to waves of Scottish immigrants arriving in Albany.
Hear the story of our local pipe band as we speak to Matthew Wilson, Pipe Major at the City of Albany Pipe Band.
'From the “Land of Cakes” to the heart of the Capital Region, a retail hub for high-end Scottish goods called ScotlandShop has touched down in Albany County. Cue the bagpipes!"
