Auld Scotland Tartan

Not directly connected to Outlander, but inspired by the incredible landscapes and epic history that forms the bedrock of the series, this collection also includes pieces in the Auld Scotland tartan.  Shades of green speak to the incredible depth of so much of Scotland's terrain, the maroon is associated with power, resourcefulness, and the sheer determination that has played its part in so much of Scotland's history, and is seen so often in Outlander.

ScotlandShop offer garments for all the family in Auld Scotland.

Can I order an item in one of the Outlander Clan tartans if it isn't on this page?

Yes!  The items shown on this page will usually be available from stock, but if you would like your own MacKenzie Muted 8 yard kilt or the stunning Kate Coat in Fraser Hunting Weathered or any of thousands of other choices, use the menu at the top of the page and our filters to find your product and select your tartan.  The only difference is that the items on this page are stock sizes, other items will probably be made to measure and on a longer delivery time.

The Tartan team love talking tartan so if you need any help, please do get in touch.  Scroll down for  details on our in store or online appointment service.

Where do you ship to?

Anywhere!  We have more than 20 years' experience shipping your tartan treasures around the world.  Wherever you are, you can be confident we will get your piece of Scotland to your door, safely and on time.

Where does your tartan fabric come from?

All the wool fabric we use is woven in Scotland by mills with centuries of experience in producing the best tartan in the world.  Our tartan is the ultimate in slow fashion, carefully woven by experienced craftspeople with decades of experience.  The looms have changed as technology has advanced, the process has not changed for centuries.

Do I need to have a connection to a Clan to wear their tartan?

No.  Members of a Clan often wear the tartan associated with that Clan, but this is tradition rather than a rule.  If you'd like to wear a MacKenzie tartan for example, you are welcome to wear that tartan.
