This weekend the "Big One" kicks off at St James Park where the Newcastle Falcons take on Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership rugby. The bold black and white will be centre stage as the Falcons come out in a special edition strip to raise funds for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

Rugby legend Doddie Weir spent a good few seasons with the Falcons playing professional rugby and is now a regular entertaining guests at the big games, so it is fitting that the club has rallied round to support his fundraising efforts to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The black and white Falcon's kit is also on sale and after the game the players shirts will be auctioned off with all profits going to the Foundation.

There always has to be a bit of tartan in Doddie's days out and a good few years ago we made his Menzies Black and White tartan trews for hospitality events. These will be centre stage again tomorrow along with a few new accessories to complete the outfit.

The "Big One" promises to be a great day out pulling in rugby supporters from across the country, and maybe even a few football fans given the St James Park venue. We would like to give our local Duns Rugby Club Minis team a wave as they are all there supporting their hero Doddie as part of their P7 Rugby Tour. Their tour tops are sponsored by ScotlandShop. Have fun boys!
