Throughout March we have been celebrating all things Clan Farquharson. We have met some famous faces, visited many sites, and gained great insight into the history of this ancient clan. Finally, we called upon the valued Clan members to share their stories and we had a wonderful response; read the blog to find out more!

Colin Wolf Farquharson Bowman, President Clan Farquharson, USA (CFUSA)
The President of Clan Farquharson, USA, Colin Wolf Farquharson Bowman sent us photos of him and his wife Sherry (we love her Farquharson Modern wrap) and the Clan's tent in Florida.
Colin also told us he put together a Clan Farquharson history video - which you can view here - a must-see for all Farquharsons and associated septs! The video "delves into the Clan's origins and evolution, illuminating the pivotal moments that have shaped Scotland's vibrant culture from the majestic Highlands to the present."
We were also delighted to interview Colin on our blog earlier this month, which you can read here!
And finally, we're pleased to share a video Colin sent us after this year's Clan Farquharson Gathering in August, where His Majesty King Charles III was presented for inspection Chief Philip Farquharson, 17th of Invercauld & Monaltrie's new Coat of Arms in Ballater. On parade were Highlanders from Invercauld, Monaltrie, Lonach, Atholl, and Duff, along with Balaklava Company 5 SCOTS and The Scots College Pipes and Drums from Sydney, Australia.
Melissa van Otten, CFUSA State Commissioner for Alabama
Melissa got in touch and sent in her lovely photo, which we had to share! Melissa says,
"We've started going to Highland Games in 2022 upon finding community with the Farquharson clan! My paternal great-grandmother was Virgie Viola Farquhar of Fayette, Alabama. Using my grandparents genealogy work, we have traced my lineage back to Laird Robert Farquhar of Gilmilnscroft (1340-1407). Here is a picture from our first Grandfather Mountain Highland Games where we met the wonderful Clan Farquharson USA President: Colin Wolf Farquharson Bowman, FSAScot. We also found some amazing friends in Clan Chattan and like to split our time between the two tents. We were recently appointed as state commissioners for Alabama, USA and we are excited to host tents at a couple local events!"
C.A. Wortley, CFUSA Regional Commissioner
C.A. Wortley from Portland Maine USA and one of the Regional Commissioners for Clan Farquharson, USA sent in his photos as well. He says, "I have been with Clan Farquharson since 1987 and a commisioner since the mid 90s. I travel to 10 events in New England (US) yearly with my tent. The uniform is Invercauld Highlander the marching private army of the Chief."

The forth photo shows the Chief with Invercauld Officers investing myself as an Invercauld Highlander (2022).
The fifth photo was taken at Braemar Castle (2018) with myself as bannerman for Chief Alwyn Farquharson.
The sixth photo was taken in 2024 with myself as bannerman for Chief Phillip Farquharson in the procession to the Ballater Games.
The last photo shows myself placing a stone for my wife at the Cairn of Remembrance (2018). All these photos were taken in the Ballater/Braemar area—"Royal Deeside" in Aberdeenshire. Myself and my children are all members of Clan Farquharson UK."
A big thank you to all our contributors! If you have a Clan Farquharson story and/or photos to share for our blog please do email us. We'd love to feature you!
Unfortunately March has come to an end, that certainly doesn't mean our love for Clan Farquharson is over, so be sure to get in touch with us if you fancy chatting all things Farquharson!
