By Carrie Sanderson February 28, 2025

Throughout February we have been celebrating all things Clan MacMillan. We have met some famous faces, visited many sites, and gained great insight into the history of this ancient clan. Finally, we called upon the valued Clan members to share their stories and we had a wonderful response; read the blog to find out more!

Alan Hedges' MacMillan Wedding & Family

We were delighted to receive these lovely photos from Alan of his MacMillan tartan wedding and family.

He says, "A few photos of me wearing my kilt in Macmillan ancient hunting, the nicest of the MacMillan tartans, for men at least. Also there is an image of the handfasting cord I made from each family tartan."

Thank you for sharing, Alan!

"This Photo was taken of me at the Annual Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina -US, Scottish Games, 2024. Over 100 Clans were there to represent, Including the MacMillan Clan (Appalachian Branch). I purchased this kilt from your shop since that is where my family resided prior to heading to the US back in the late 1780’s. One year Voyage on there ship, before finally settling in North Carolina."

Thanks so much, Brandon!

Rob Humbert Hale

Rob says, "here is a picture of me and my incredible wife Linda. It was taken at the opening dinner for one of the Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival & Highland Games.

I was a former Convener for Clan MacMillan in New Mexico but, due to health issues, I was unable to continue. Not much was accomplished other than hosting the clan tents at a few Highland Games in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM."

Thanks for sharing, Rob!

Unfortunately February has come to an end, that certainly doesn't mean our love for Clan MacMillan is over, so be sure to get in touch with us if you fancy chatting all things MacMillan!
