Magnificent Stories of Clan Macpherson
While we adore learning all about clan history, from castles to battles and beyond, what we love most is hearing all about what the clan has been up to, especially when it involves tartan! Today, we're taking a look at some of the beautiful ways in which Clan Macpherson around the world has been celebrating their Scottish heritage.
First up is quite the tropical tartan experience! Pictured above are James Lees and his daughter, Elisabeth Lees sporting their Macpherson tartan sash and tie. Believe it or not, they attended a Burns Supper in the Cayman Islands! We don't know about you, but we're certainly ready to hop a flight over for the next tropical Burns Night.
But the Scottish cultural celebration didn't stop there! Next, Elisabeth donned her stunning Macpherson tartan stole. Something like this is absolutely perfect for those cooler nights by the water and it's also a beautiful way to incorporate your family's heritage into a more formal look. We. think that Elisabeth looks the picture perfect Scottish lassie! Another little Scottish lass took part in the Macpherson festivities as well. Elise Schreiner, granddaughter of James Lees, is pictured below in her own Macpherson sash! Elise was participating in cultural day at school in the Cayman Islands and seems very happy indeed to be a part of her clan. Well done, Elise!
Finally, it was Christmas in the Cayman Islands, after all, which certainly means a tartan Christmas table for the Lees family! Just look at that gorgeous table setting!
We can't resist tartan tableware and this Macpherson set up goes above and beyond with the addition of the red salt and pepper shakers! What's your favourite part of this festive Christmas table?
Tartan Weddings Galore
You all know that we love a good wedding story and so do the Macpherson's! We received some absolutely beautiful wedding photos this month and have been waiting with bated breath to share them with you! Well, the wait is over and we'll start with the gorgeous photo above shared by Charley Steele. The wedding took place in 2012 and features the stunning Macpherson red tartan.
The next is from Gary Gillespie who says:
We got married on winter solstice 2019 in the Valley of Fire State Park (Nevada, USA), which included a handfasting ceremony.
Handfasting is a wonderful way to incorporate some Scottish tradition into your wedding and if you're looking to add a touch of tartan to your celebration, we can create custom handfasting ribbon for you!
Next, Scott Macpherson (above) shares that he and his now wife had hoped to get married in Scotland, but had to "settle for a backyard wedding" instead because of pandemic restrictions. Well, Scott, the tartan is spectacular and the bride is lovely---far from settling, in our opinion. Though, we do hope this pair of Macpherson's gets to travel across the pond soon!
Finally, we'd like to give a shout out to Al Mac for sharing his traditional Highland outfit from his wedding, that took place in 2018. After all, what's a wedding without a bit of whisky?
There we have it, folks! This has been an incredibly festive group of Macpherson stories and we always treasure seeing clan members in their terrific tartans. Until next time...
