Doddie'5 Tartan Ted Sets off from Murrayfield

Ted started his day helping out the lovely Michaela on reception for Scottish Rugby. Murrayfield stadium has been the home of Scottish Rugby for 97 years. On 21 March 1925 England were the first team to visit Murrayfield, with 70,000 people watching Scotland beat them to win their first Five Nations Championship Grand Slam.

Following his stint on reception it was time for a break, so Ted headed up to Edinburgh HQ for a quick rest with the team in between their training sessions.

Ted then headed out to the match day pitch also know as "The Bowl" at the Heart of Murrayfield Stadium with some of the players from Edinburgh Rugby.

Prop, Murray McCallum graduated from BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy to join Edinburgh on a fully professional deal in 2017. He also made his debut for Scotland earlier this year during their Six Nations fixture against Wales at the Principality Stadium. Murray is hoping to travel back down to Cardiff with the Scotland Squad to play Wales once more, during the Doddie Weir Cup.

Full-back & Wing, Tom Brown has been playing with Edinburgh since his debut against Leinster at Murrayfield in September 2010. His 100^th Edinburgh Rugby appearance was in the 2016 1872 Cup derby at BT Murrayfield.

Chris Dean joined the club as a Centre in 2014 after a successful stint with Scotland 7s and made his 50th appearance for the club in the 2017/18 season.

Both, Tom & Chris previously played for Edinburgh Academical Football Club so chose to pass Ted on to the Accies in the next stage of his journey to Cardiff.

Frank Spratt, Edinburgh Accies Club President & Iain Berthinussen, EAFC coach then welcomed Ted to Raeburn Place this afternoon.

Raeburn Place is actually the home of International Rugby, the first International match was played there on 27 March 1871 between England and Scotland. Scottish Rugby matches continued to be played at Raeburn Place until moving to Murrayfield in the 1920's.
