#TartanTedUSA - New York City Tartan Week
Since November #TartanTedUSA has been travelling from California towards the Big Apple ready to take part in New York City Tartan Week. We have just landed in New York and are delighted to say that Ted has arrived to meet us here!
Ted started his journey with the North Coat Scottish Society on St Andrew's day and has visited many Scottish Societies, Pipe Bands and Companies with Scottish Heritage along the way.
Ted was last with our friends ScotForgewho arranged a further two visits for this special bear before the final stage of his Journey to New York.
Campbell Press Repair was the next stop for Ted. Campbell Inc. are based in Lansing, Michigan and have been repairing forging equipment and rebuilding general heavy machinery repair since 1972.
After a short stay in Michigan Ted headed to visit McInnes Rolled Rings in Erie, Pennsylvania. During his time in Pennsylvania, the team at McInnes took Ted to visit Edinboro University. The university was founded as the Edinboro Academy, a private training school for Pennsylvania teachers in 1857, by the region's original Scottish settlers. The University's 17 varsity athletic teams are known as the Edinboro Fighting Scots, who all use Scotland the Brave as their Fight Song and Stewart Royal Tartan as part of their Logo.
Today USA Tartan Ted landed in New York! After meeting us at ourpop-up store in the Algonquin Hotel, we took him to see Times Square. He was quite hungry after all of his travelling so did have to try an authentic New York pretzel to keep him going. We are delighted that Ted made it to New York in time to Celebrate Tartan Week with us here in the Big Apple and can't wait to introduce him to all the Pipe Bands and Societies taking part in the Parade on Saturday.
