Blairgowrie & Rattray Highland Games

Our Tartan Tent will be popping up at the Blairgowrie & Rattray Highland Games, one of Perthshire’s best-loved summer events and a celebration of Scotland’s sporting and cultural traditions. With roots stretching back more than 135 years, and records now confirming Games were held here as early as 1868, this historic gathering has long brought crowds together for a day full of competition, music and community spirit.

Today, the Games continue that proud tradition with a packed programme of classic Highland Games action. Expect thrilling heavyweight events including tossing the caber, throwing the hammer, putting the shot and weight over the bar, alongside lively Highland dancing competitions and stirring pipe band performances throughout the day. There’s also running and cycling races, a fiercely contested tug o’ war, trade stands, craft stalls and plenty of food and drink to enjoy as you soak up the atmosphere.
