Women's Longline Tartan Jacket Sizing Guide

Our tartan jackets are the most stylish, beautifully made items you can add to your wardrobe. Every jacket is made to order in the tartan of your choice so we can accommodate any quirky sizes and special requests. If you have a particularly long or short body just let us know and we can adjust the proportions for you so you really will have your perfect jacket carefully made just for you in tartan fabric woven right here in Scotland.

We make our jackets in UK size 8 to 24 (US size 4 to 20) so we can cater for petite and plus sizes. If you have a larger bust size and smaller waist please select the correct size to fit your bust and provide us with a waist measurement so we can ensure it is nipped in to show off your curves. If you are more pear shaped then again please select the correct size for your bust and give us a waist and hip measurement and your jacket will be cut accordingly. Any extra information on your shape size is always welcome to help us adapt the patterns to suit you.

Our sizing guide below will help you to guide you in choosing the correct size for our Tartan Jackets, and we also ask for a few extra measurements just to double check. Use the Order Notes box in the shopping basket to provide any extra information or you can of course email us after you have placed your order if you miss this!

If you have any questions or need any help with measuring or anything else please do not hesitate to contact us via LiveChat, by email or by phone.

How your jacket is made

The Fabric

We use a top quality lightweight 10oz tartan fabric woven in Scotland to make your longline jacket. If you want a heavier weight jacket to wear in winter we can also use a 13oz or 16oz wool. A surcharge will apply for heavier fabrics.

Making your Tartan Jacket

Buying a beautifully tailored item created from Scottish cloth is creating a classic piece for your wardrobe that will look good for years. Our jackets are made from a lightweight wool woven in Scotland, fully lined and beautifully finished. You can customise lots of details if you wish. See below for all the options!

The Detail

Your jacket is already an original as you choose the tartan and we tailor it to your measurements. But the fun doesn't end there and you can request so many details to make your jacket even more special. You can choose the colour of your lining. Be bold and go for a contrast colour or take a more sedate co-ordinating colour to suit the occasion. Buttonhole stitching can be emphasised to match a stripe or check. Button colours will match the base colour as standard or you can select any colour you like. Cuffs generally have stitched buttons for show only but we can make them real if you want to roll your sleeves up. Extra pockets can be added or pocket styles changed to be slanting instead of straight, jetted instead of flaps. Your tartan jacket is not only made to measure but also made to your specification. Surcharges may apply for some extras. Email us for more information.

The Tartan

Your jacket is made to measure just for you and you can choose from over 500 Scottish clan tartans. If you can't find the one you are looking for please ask as we may be able to source it for you.

How to care for your tartan jacket

Properly cared for your jacket will last for years. This is a pure wool fabric and should be dry cleaned only. Wool fabric can become dull with general dust and dirt. Gentle brushing with a garment brush will brighten it up again.
