A Fly Plaid matching your kilt will beautifully elevate your kilt outfit, perfect for those more formal occasions and especially suitable for the groom at their wedding. 

 

Made to order in a variety of tartan fabric weights (depending on your chosen tartan) please ensure you choose the same weight as your kilt to make sure your fly plaid is an exact match to your kilt.

For example:  if you have a kilt in 16oz Black Watch plaid, the pattern repeat is approximately 32cm square, but a Fly Plaid in 10oz Black Watch plaid will have a pattern repeat approximately 21.5cm square.  Order a 16oz Fly Plaid to exactly match the pattern repeat on your kilt.

 

Colours can also vary slightly from mill to mill so if we didn't make your kilt, please check with us which weight to choose or book an appointment with the tartan team online or instore.  The appointment is free and comes with no expectation or commitment.

A brooch is an essential accessory required to keep your plaid in place, the Celtic Cross Plaid Brooch or Clan Crest Plaid Brooch are both great options. 

Please note: if you order in 14oz, Old and Rare or Irish plaid fabric, the fly plaid will have a discreet pattern matched join.

Returns Process

We hope you love your parcel from Scotland; however, we do understand that sometimes you might need to return or exchange items.

For stock products we have a 30 day, no quibble return policy, this also applies to sale items and in store purchases. Items must be unworn, with labels attached. Simply fill in the authorisation form and we will confirm the address for you to send it back to us.

Custom made or personalised goods are non-returnable unless the item is faulty or made to incorrect measurements. You must give us the opportunity to adjust, repair or replace faulty or incorrect items before you can claim a refund. We are also unable to accept returns on cut lengths of fabric and we advise ordering swatches prior to ordering large quantities of fabric if you want to check colours and quality.
