In the past it was the custom for Scotland's Clan Chiefs to give their followers a metal plate of their crest, to be worn as a badge of allegiance which fastened to their clothing with a strap and buckle. When not in use the belt was coiled around the crest and this convention is used in the clan crest badges of today.
Our Clan Crest Badges are made from Old fashioned Pewter with a plated finish of Palladium (to prevent scratching or tarnishing).
There are 125 clans available, with over 1200 Scottish surnames related to these clans as Septs and Descendants. These surnames are family names associated to particular plans through marriage or allegiance. If you can't find an association to a Clan then the Thistle, Piper, Lion Rampant and Culloden Badges can be worn by anyone.
All Clan Crest items are made in Scotland and approved by the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs.
