Our men's plaid pants have two side pockets, one hip pocket and standard belt loops (wider loops to fit kilt belts can be added on request)

What are the lining options?

    Our plaid pants are lined to the knee at the front as standard, extending their life and making them supremely comfortable when you stand up or sit down.

    We can line the pants front and back for a small extra charge, which will prolong the life of the fabric.  Front and back lining may also be worth considering if you are using medium or heavyweight fabric.  Heavier fabrics are not as soft as the 10oz fabric we use as standard and all round lining means the heavier weight fabric will not feel less comfortable against your skin.

What can I wear with my tartan trousers?

    Tartan trousers can be worn with a variety of clothing. For a formal a full  2 piece tartan suit with tie might be the outfit needed. If they are to be worn for a more every day look, a quarter zip sweater with shirt would be a perfect option.

What is the 2 finger rule for fitting trousers?

    In order for your Tartan trousers to be the perfect fit around your waist, a tailoring technique is to try and attempt to fit two fingers between your body and the waistband of your trousers. If you can do so without a struggle and the trousers are not too lose then they are the correct size.

Can I wear Tartan if I am not Scottish?

    Although Tartan is worn by people from Scotland, there is no rule against wearing Tartan and anyone can, regardless of their heritage. There are a rare few tartans that are worn solely by the people they were created for such as The Balmoral Tartan which is reserved exclusively for the British Royal Family.

Where did Tartan trousers come from?

    Originating as far back as the 16th century. Tartan trousers were designed in the Scottish Highlands as a warmer, and some may say a much more practical option compared to a kilt to still wear tartan in the cold winters.

Returns Process

We hope you love your parcel from Scotland; however, we do understand that sometimes you might need to return or exchange items.

For stock products we have a 30 day, no quibble return policy, this also applies to sale items and in store purchases. Items must be unworn, with labels attached. Simply fill in the authorisation form and we will confirm the address for you to send it back to us.

Custom made or personalised goods are non-returnable unless the item is faulty or made to incorrect measurements. You must give us the opportunity to adjust, repair or replace faulty or incorrect items before you can claim a refund. We are also unable to accept returns on cut lengths of fabric and we advise ordering swatches prior to ordering large quantities of fabric if you want to check colours and quality.
