You know how we love Scotland and our local area and like to tell you about the best bits. Well another of our favourites is the Ednam House Hotel in the nearby town of Kelso, famous for sitting right on the river Tweed with it's amazing salmon fishing and home to Historic Scotland's Kelso Abbey which was the location for our spring photoshoot for children's tartan wedding wear. Kelso is a very picturesque little town with a cobbled town centre and home to lots of nice little independent shops including another of our favourites A Hume Country Clothing.
Well not only does the The Ednam House make a fabulous location for a Scottish Wedding but recently it has become home to the iconic Highland Queen Scotch Whisky and the fine range of Majesty Single Malts : 8,12,16 years old , including the limited 1989 edition and rare 30 year old edition. To celebrate this and give you the chance to experience whisky for yourself we are enclosing a special offer with every parcel over the next month telling you all about their whisky weekends.
Staying in this gorgeous Georgian Mansion located in 3 acres of gardens overlooking the river Tweed, yet within Kelso town centre is an experience in itself. The idyllic location offers tranquility and convenience and is the perfect base to explore the Borders and access the many castles, gardens, Golf Courses and attractions... not to mention the many salmon fishing beats. Owned and run by the Brooks family since 1928, today Ralph & Anne, the fourth generation, carry on the tradition of offering their guests and visitors genuine hospitality and authentic good food. The hotel recently won a Gold Medal for Real & Local Food, in recognition of the outstanding food quality, using fresh local ingredients. The whisky weekends include accomodation for 2 nights, full Scottish breakfast, full table d'hote dinner on the first night with a whisky tasting session on the second night, followed by supper with fellow whisky tasters and whisky ambassador Ronnie Berri. The perfect Scottish gift for a man who has it all!
