Colour Me Tartan - Greenery, the colour of 2017

A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. Pantone Color Institute

Greenery compressor

The Pantone color of the year is chosen to reflect the mood and attitude of our global culture in the current year. With so much going on politically I think we need this fresh and zesty shade to keep our spirits up and bring us back to nature and simplicity. Add a pop of Greenery in your accessories or shoes, or take a lead from Kenzo or Michael Kors and use it as a bold accent in your pattern or better still, tartan. Peruse our green tartans on our tartan finder or give us a call if you need some help choosing.

Style tips

If you are a little nervous picking the shade of green to complement your skin tone we have some advice. Go a little darker with your greens for pale and fair complexions and choose a Modern tartan rather than the lighter, brighter Ancient versions. Olive and medium skin tones are lucky and most colours will work for you apart from the more olive shades so avoid those Weathered tartans. Darker complexions also need to be careful with the browner shades of green, but lime and brighter hues will work a treat for you.

Deco

Pot plants, herbs and spices and botanic themed wallpaper and paint are all part of the green revival reaching into our homes. Walk into any trendy interiors shop and you will find the decor lifted by strategically placed greenery and of course we will be incorporating this theme as we design and shopfit our new store. Foliage not only lifts our mood and reduces anxiety, but it is also good for the environment so there are really no excuses not to upholster that sofa in a the bright green Galloway Hunting Ancient tartan.

Take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate. Go Greenery for 2017!
