The Whisky Poll: Time to Vote

Time to share your opinion.

Vote for your favourite whisky to accompany the haggis, neeps and tatties this Burns Night. And of course if none of those featured are your favourite then make sure you share with us via email or social media just which whisky you will be enjoying a wee dram of on 25th January.

We are very interested in finding out about lesser known whiskies and smaller, niche brands producing small quantities of specialist Scotch. The Telegraph reported last year that "Whisky is now officially cool" and quoted Talisker, the only single malt from the Isle of Skye, as one of those helping to drive its popularity. The rise of the Whisky cocktail is also contributing and we like this one which also includes that famous Scottish beverage Irn-Bru:

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Talisker 10 Year Old
  • 15ml Irn-Bru cordial infused with black pepper, grapefruit zest and vanilla
  • 5ml Luxardo Maraschin

Method:

  1. Combine ingredients, stir and strain into a Nick and Nora glass (rather lovely cocktail glass in case you haven't previously met Nick & Nora).
  2. Garnish with Irn-Bru tablet.

Mmmmmmm ....sorry I'm off home now to make myself one!
