Ancient Tartan
1860年以前、布地は動物性染料と植物性染料を用いて染色されていた。これにより古代タータンの特徴である柔らかな色合い——苔のような緑や空のような青、よりオレンジがかった赤——が生み出され、現代タータンよりもコントラストが鮮明であるため、模様がより効果的に際立つと評されることもある。単一のタータンの全バリエーションにおいて、模様（セット）は共通であり、異なるのは色合いやトーンのみである。

Modern Tartan
1860年以前、布地は動物性および植物性の染料で染められていました。これにより古代タータン特有の柔らかな色合いが生み出されました。1860年以降、化学染料が天然の動物性・植物性染料に取って代わり、より鮮やかで力強い色彩を持つ現代タータンが誕生しました。柔らかな緑や青は深緑や紺色に、赤は緋色へと変化しました。

Weathered Tartan
1860年以前、布地は動物性染料と植物性染料を用いて染色されていた。これにより、風雨と日光に晒された大胆な色彩を彷彿とさせる、より柔らかく素朴な色合いが生み出された。風化したタータン特有の美しい褪せたトーン、オリーブグリーンやブラウン、そして赤というよりピンクに近い淡いブルーが特徴である。

Hunting Tartan
狩猟用タータンは迷彩タータンであり、一部の氏族にはこのバリエーションが存在しない。その理由は、既に緑や茶色が基調となっており、自然の色に溶け込むための修正を必要としないためである。ブラックウォッチやガンのタータンがこれに該当する一方、フレイザーのようなタータンは赤が基調であり、狩猟中の兵士を十分に隠蔽することはできない。

Dress Tartan

Territories
The Bisset family traces their ancestral roots back to Norman origin, and first appeared in ancient medieval records in Rosshire. From very early on they not only held lands and estates in Scotland but were also actively allied with other influential families.
Clan Chief
Clan Bissett is an armigerous clan which means that the clan, family or name is registered with the Court of the Lord Lyon, but does not currently have a chief recognised by the Lyon Court.
What's in the name?
The early form of the Bisset name is Byset and one Henricus Byset who returned to Scotland with William the Lion in 1174.
Aboyne Castle
Dating back to the 13th century it is uncertain whether Aboyne Castle was built adjacent to or on the site of the original castle of the Bissets. The Bisset family were exiled in the mid 13th century following accusations of involvement in the murder of the heir to the Earldom of Atholl, and it is likely that the castle was rebuilt in the 17th century, and again in the 19th century. Now home to the Gordon family and not open to visitors, the original castle is largely in accessible, with only the hall-block and round tower remaining to the north-west, with a five story tower to the rear.The ruins of a priory and the Bisset stronghold founded by John Bisset in 1230 at Beauly in Inverness-shire were at the original site of Beauly Castle, the current seat of the Frasers of Lovat.
