Glengarry Highland Games
We can't wait to return to the Glengarry Highland Games in Maxville on August 2nd & 3rd. We will be there in our tartan tent with swatch books full of over 500 Scottish and Irish tartans, so come along to find your Clan tartan and celebrate your Scottish heritage this August. We will have samples of all our products and plenty to tempt you with, tape measures at the ready for custom-made and tailored garments.
Since the first Games were held in 1948, the people of Glengarry have welcomed almost a million people to celebrate Scottish culture, sports and traditions and enjoy what is estimated to be one of the largest Highland Games in the world. Thousands of people come to Maxville every year to witness amazing displays of music, dance, sports, fiddling, pageantry, and tradition.
From the organisers: "In the course of the day, more than 50 pipe bands are put through their paces to decide the North American Pipe Band Championshipsâ„¢, more than 200 dancers defy gravity in the Highland Dance competition and giants hurl telephone pole-sized cabers and 50 pound iron hammers around the infield." How can you possibly stay away?
