Sinclair Hunting Weathered Tartan Wedding

This French couple are fully kitted out in the Sinclair Hunting Weathered Tartan for their special day. They have the Fly Plaid, Tartan Waistcoat, Kilt and wedding dress bodice in the tartan. The socks are my favourite element and work so well with the outfit!

Davidson Tartan

Here's Jonny rocking his Davidson Clan Modern Waistcoat with a Horseshoe Neck. The straight cut bottom on this waistcoat style works really well with a kilt showing off the kilt belt and buckle beautifully.

Tartan Bolero Jackets for the Wedding Party

Back in 2016 Sherryanne ordered 10 different Tartan Bolero Jackets so that her bridesmaids and family members could all show off their own tartan on the big day. The Bolero jackets were made in MacMillan Hunting Ancient, Douglas Ancient, Robertson Hunting Ancient, All Ireland Blue, Duncan Ancient, Wallace Hunting Ancient and Leathernecks US Marine Corps Modern. Sherryanne fell so in love with tartan she even had a Kate Coat and a Waistcoat made in the MacMillan Hunting Ancient as well!

A Scottish Handfasting Ceremony Down Under

We were delighted to hear from Chris Cameron and Lisa Baynes from Australia who shared their wonderful photos from their Handfasting Ceremony!

In his own words, Chris says he is "a most enthusiastic descendant of Scottish heritage, and a keen Member of The St Andrews of Scotland Society here", and that "even in the furtherest reaches, the Highland Traditions are still honoured!!

The first Ceremony was held at the Annual Society Dinner, late in 2023, a very public affair, while the second, was a small and intimate Ceremony where we reaffirmed our vows up on top of the Bunya Mountains, not far from where I live, in Toowoomba, Queensland.

We were delighted to be able to dress up, me in Cameron of Lochiel, Lisa suitable sashed, and we loved it!!"

"Rev Graeme McKay, a Scottish born Minister, and the Chaplain to The Society of St Andrew of Scotland, who came up to lead the Ceremony for us. Shaun O’Brien, my Attendant, myself, Lisa, and Sophie Thompson, Lisa’s Attendant, as the 3 ribbons were being wound."

Pipers above:

"On the right is Rory McFarlane a young piper from nearby Warwick, who has made 2 appearances at the Edinburgh Tattoo!

The first, in 2022 was as part of the Brisbane Boys College Band, the second, last year was as part of a composite Band of people from around the world who competed for a place, obviously he was successful!!

This gives us a real tie back to Scotland and reinforces our determination to keep the wonderful old Traditions alive!!"

Thank you so much Chris and Lisa for sharing your beautiful story and photos!
