Tartan Pooch Steals The Show

Untitled design Special Sinclair Wedding

This beautiful couple celebrated their wedding at the famous Gretna Green, their handsome pup Frank was the proud ring bearer. Frank was the winner of our Tartan Tails competition and wore his Sinclair Hunting Ancient tartan bandana for his owners big day. The whole family matched with Franks bandana, with the groom and their son wearing matching ties and the beautiful bride wore a Sinclair stole.

I used tartan ribbon to cover his collar and lead to match and also to make some of the flowers in my bouquet. And used ribbon for a wrist corsage for my bridesmaid.

My Great Auntie- The Artist

Kirsty reached out to tell us the story of her Great Aunt- Lesley Sinclair. Lesley was a noted Australian artist with a fascinating life, she lived at a famous artist colony in Melbourne. Lesley joined the Montsalvat when it opened in 1934 and lived at the institute for the last 30 years of her life. Her role was not only to create her own work but also teach others and she welcomed visitors at the gate with her warm and welcoming smile. She was involved with Justus Jörgensen art studio in Melbourne, while she was pursuing her passion of art she took at day job as a cleaner so she could dedicate her nights to her passion. She was even the Justus Jörgensen studio manager. She became a crucial part in the founding of Montsalvat, she would venture out to collect food for the crew and she remained loyal to Jörgensen over the years and helped the growth of Montsalvat. Lesley's life did not slow down, when she was 80 she embarked on her first solo exhibition at the Victorian Artists Society. She was full of ambition and great talent and is a huge miss to her family. She left behind a great story and a legacy of beautiful artwork.

Jörgensen's son describes Lesley : “One of Lesley’s great attributes was to make friends with people of all ages. She was a shy person but with immense energy, passion and imagination.” He also made the point that “Lesley never appeared to have a burning ambition to set the world on fire, but was knowledgeable about her favourite subjects of art and literature, which she would happily discuss over a glass of red wine”.

Sinclair Decor Inspiration

Blue Summer Beach Photo Collage Cabin Decor

Debra made the long trip from America to Scotland in 2015, she was lucky enough to visit Sinclair Girnigoe Castle. She was so inspired by her family ties to the castle and the clan that she decided to use the Sinclair Hunting tartan to decorate her family's cabin. The cabin is beautifully modern, but with a nod to the past and the little Scottish details are the perfect addition to tie it all together.

Here are photos of the finished cabin, with green cabinets and tartan cushions, a navy sliding door, and blue hues throughout. We also used the Sinclair red tartan for a Christmas tree skirt which I made from your beautiful fabric.

This tartan tot is Kit- His mum Katie and Dad Alastair tied the knot in St Andrews in 2022. Kit had a Sinclair Hunting Modern tartan romper which matched Alastair's kilt and tie.

My son Kit had a romper which was custom made from you guys and matched my kilt! It went down a treat. My dad and grandad have Sinclair as their middle name and I chose to give it to Kit as well.
