The Tartan Fine Pleated Skirt can be paired with a beautiful tartan Bolero jacket, available in a matching tartan to your skirt, for a classy finish to your outfit. If you are looking for something more casual, we have a lovely range of knitted jumpers to give you a bit of an extra layer but still allow the colour of your skirt to stand out. The pleats in our tartan fine pleated skirt, unlike the pleats in our kilted skirts, are created with heat rather than being sewn into the fabric. This gives it a lighter, more flowy effect. In 1993 a Japanese designer, Issey Miyake, created the technique in which he would sew his garments two or three times bigger than they were meant to be, and then fold and sandwich the fabric between paper to heat-press it, creating permanent pleats. The fabric we use is 100% wool, but we recommend having it made in a lightweight fabric, such as a 10oz, to allow it to have that flow. As well as this it is fully lined, meaning that there is no chance of it being see-through.
Absolutely! Most of our tartan fabrics are 100% wool, woven in Scotland, and is the best quality fabric for all your tartan garments. Due to its rich texture and the elasticity of the wool it maintains its shape perfectly. Tartan allows you to have insulation as well as being a breathable fabric for those warmer days. We would recommend only having your tartan dry cleaned as it is not machine washable and much easier than attempting to clean yourself!

We have a team that provide face-to-face appointments in our stores where they can take your measurements, or if you are not able to visit us, we also do virtual calls where we can talk you through the process of taking your own measurements. Returns Process
We hope you love your parcel from Scotland; however, we do understand that sometimes you might need to return or exchange items.
For stock products we have a 30 day, no quibble return policy, this also applies to sale items and in store purchases. Items must be unworn, with labels attached. Simply fill in the authorisation form here we will confirm the address for you to send it back to us.
Custom made or personalised goods are non-returnable unless the item is faulty or made to incorrect measurements. You must give us the opportunity to adjust, repair or replace faulty or incorrect items before you can claim a refund. We are also unable to accept returns on cut lengths of fabric and we advise ordering swatches prior to ordering large quantities of fabric if you want to check colours and quality.
