Buying or Hiring A Wedding Kilt?

We understand that buying a kilt, especially for a wedding, can be a hefty investment. However, buying a kilt is creating a family heirloom that can be handed down from generation to generation. You will also be able to wear your kilt on many other occasions, from other weddings to dinner parties. So when it comes to your special day, get a kilt that’s personal to you to look and feel your best!

Who should wear a kilt at a wedding?

Whether you are the groom, a groomsmen or a wedding guest you can wear a kilt to a wedding.  There are no set in stone rules.

Can you wear a kilt to a wedding if you're not Scottish?

Though its considered Scotland's National dress, anyone can wear a kilt to a wedding, no matter their nationality. There are many general tartans for example Black Watch or Isle of Skye, that do not have any clan or family ties and can be worn by anyone. We do recommend reading up on how to wear the kilt and accompanying accessories properly,

We also have a fantastic selection of tops to complement your kilt and to create the ultimate wedding kilt outfit. Our range includes the tartan Argyll jacket, the tweed kilt jacket and waistcoat, the classic black Argyll kilt jacket, and the traditional Prince Charlie jacket & waistcoat. If you are wondering which kilt jacket to go for, the general rule is to opt for the Prince Charlie if it is a traditional or formal wedding, whereas the Argyll is a more versatile option for semi-formal ceremonies.
