The Scottish Yarn Festival

For all you true yarn lovers there is an event about to be held in Perth that is not to be missed. The Scottish Yarn Festival was established in 2016, and is Scotland’s largest and longest continuously running contemporary yarn and fibre festival. The festival is a celebration of everything related to hand knitting. From crochet to weaving and everything in-between, there will be something for everyone. We will be there with swatch books full of over 500 Scottish and Irish tartans, with samples of all our products and plenty to tempt you with.

Yarn is a fundamental piece to creating our beautiful tartan products. The tartan patterns are formed by the way different coloured yarns intersect in the weave. A weft yarn crossing warp threads of a different colour creates a visual blend or halftone effect, and the number of colours influences the complexity and visual depth of the pattern. 

Visitors come from all over the world to sample the knitting delights. Our Crieff Shop is only a short 30 minute drive from the main event. So if you are coming to town for the festival this year please come and say hello and pass on some of your knitting tips.
