Throughout March we have been celebrating all things Clan Fraser of Lovat. We have met some famous faces, visited many sites, and gained great insight into the history of this ancient clan. Finally, we called upon the valued Clan members to share their stories and we have had a couple of lovely stories; read the blog to find out more!

Rae and Norma

Rae in New Zealand sent in this photo of his wife and him in his Fraser tartan waistcoat for our Clan Fraser of Lovat celebrations this month. A lovely picture, thank you Rae!

Rae tells us, "my family came from Aberdeenshire, a wee place called Maud. The family ( my cousins ) are still there to this day and have visited us here in New Zealand. My Dad was born on the ship that came out from Scotland many years ago. Our family name is Simpson and my mother was a Macrae and that's how they named me, they took the Rae from her surname.

My wife's Dad was from Dumfries and sadly passed away from cancer 7 years ago. Both of our families are tied to Scottish roots big time. We have visited Scotland a couple of times and each time I feel like I am home and never want to leave."

We also received this fun photo from Bob Fraser!

"Here's a Christmas photo of the Connecticut (USA) Fraser Clan "gals" wearing Fraser plaid scarfs with embroidered names purchased from ScotlandShop in Scotland.  A similar Christmas photo of the same "gals" was taken a year later with the gals donning ScotlandShop Fraser plaid tams."

What a great photo, thank you Bob!

Unfortunately March has come to an end, that certainly doesn't mean our love for Clan Fraser of Lovat is over, so be sure to get in touch with us if you fancy chatting all things Fraser of Lovat!
