On Trend - Primary colours

Despite the simplicity of primary colours it is hard to find a more eye-catching combination and this is an easy way to brighten up your wedding day. Primary colours contrast and enhance the simple black and red check theme for this wedding featured by The Knot. The bridesmaids wore shawls in the same fabric and the Groom had it for the back on his waistcoat and trim on his shirt. Nice touches!

Customised place settings are all the rage. They take lots of time and thought but then these little touches are what make your special day very personal and memorable. My maiden name was Browne and I became a White so our theme involved these 2 colours and a lot of hand cutting of pieces of card and ribbon to make place names, napkin rings and favours. It took hours but I will never forget sitting with my sisters in the sunshine creating these finishing touches and getting excited about the day to come. Pinterest is a fabulous source of inspiration and below is a favourite example of great use of colour and personalisation.

Now if you said to the bride you were going to combine green, pink and orange she might not be very keen, but wow the Gordon Red Ancient tartan with the pink stripe picked out with pink plates and flowers, the orange stripe by the ribbon and the green in the water glasses works so well. Proof that sometimes you need to be bold with colour!
