The Ultimate Tartan Winter Coat Guide
Now that it is October, Autumn has officially arrived and you can definitely see a change in the weather already, with the cold and dreary mornings setting in and the evenings getting darker far too quickly. This is usually when us ladies will be looking for a new Winter coat to get us through these next few months. So, we thought this would be the perfect time to tell you all about the different Tartan Coats we have available in our winter collection this year.
The Kate Coat
We designed The Kate Coat after the whole country went crazy for Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen Black Watch Coat back in 2013 and of course we had to name it after her as well. Although it has been 6 years since the coat was first spotted it is still as popular as ever, not only by customers wanting to re-create the Kate Middleton look but also by customers who fall in love with the flattering silhouette and high quality fabric. The Kate Coat looks amazing on anyone no matter what body type, as the flared style accentuates, yet minimises the waist. It is the perfect stylish and cosy coat to wear on those chilly winter days out. We have this coat available from stock in the classic Black Watch, but also in MacLachlan Modern and Baird Modern, or of course you can have the coat custom made in whichever tartan or tweed you desire.
Women's Tartan Cape
The Cape is definitely one of the favourites from the collection, as it is perfect for layering throughout the winter months. Capes were all over the runway back in February for the Autumn/Winter 2019 collections, favoured particularly by Celine and Mui Mui, so if you like to follow the latest trends then this is the coat for you. Our Cape was even featured on the X Factor, by one of Fleur East's back up dancers! Again this can be custom made in your choice of tartan or tweed.
Women's Longline Tartan Jacket
Our Women's Longline Tartan Jacket is definitely one of our more formal jacket options, with it's structured fit and longline style. It is super flattering for any body type, as the three buttons in the centre of the jacket accentuate and minimise the waist, much like The Kate Coat. While this coat would be perfect for wearing alongside your smart work clothes or your evening attire, it would also work really well in a more casual setting if paired with the right outfit, such as a cashmere sweater and jeans.
Tartan Trench Coat
Finally, our last Tartan Winter coat is the Trench Coat, a classic, easy to wear staple that everyone should own. This is a coat where there is no need to worry about it going out of fashion as there is always at least one designer that will feature the style in their collection every season. For Autumn/Winter 2019 the Trench Coat was featured by of course Burberry, as well as Gucci and Givenchy. While this double breasted, belted style is definitely more of a coat that can be worn in a casual setting, it can certainly be worn formally as well. You can either select a tartan of your choice for a bold statement or if you fancy a more subtle trench then why not go for a tweed?
