Central New York Scottish Games & Celtic Festival

American Scottish Highland Games
August 10th - 10th 2024
Event Address: 3813 Long Branch Rd, Liverpool, NY 13090

Our tartan tent is heading to the Central New York Scottish Games & Celtic Festival which will take place on the 10th August at Long Branch Park on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse. We will be there with our swatch books full of over 500 Scottish and Irish tartans, with samples of all our products and plenty to tempt you with, tape measures at the ready for custom-made and tailored garments.

The games began in the 1930’s when a group of Scottish-Americans joined together to initiate a Scottish cultural event at Emerson Park, in Auburn, NY. WWII put a stop to such events but when the war ended, these same people joined together once again, joined by recent Scottish immigrants, they were then granted a charter by the Royal Clan of the Order of Scottish Clans. On November 1st, 1945, Clan Douglas, #232, Order of Scottish Clans was born. The members of Clan Douglas quickly moved to restart their “Scottish Games" in the newly created Onondaga Lake Park, home of the games ever since. In 1984 Clan Douglas alongside other members of the Scottish community, created the not-for-profit corporation, the Central New York Scottish Games, Inc. Find out more on our blog.

The Central New York Scottish Games is ready to welcome 2024 with the 81st Annual Games, and this year the featured tartan is the Buchanan tartan, so expect lots of the bold colours in our tent. The family-friendly event offers a day full of competitions in solo piping, drumming, pipe bands, Highland dancing, and heavy athletics as well as children’s games, Celtic musical entertainment, Celtic-themed vendors, food, clans, and societies. Come along to find your Clan tartan and celebrate your Scottish heritage. If there is anything special you would particularly like to see, let us know and we will bring it along.
