Tartan Plus Fours Sizing Guide

Tartan plus fours for the true gentleman of the golf course. Made in Scotland in a practical polyviscose fabric which can be machine washed and will not fade. Our tartan plus fours close at the knee with Velcro adjustable so they are comfortable and won't limit your golf swing.

To ensure that you get the perfect fit, be sure to follow our measuring tips and advice:

For the most accurate measurements, use a tailors tape measure and have a friend or family member measure for you. Ensure you have nothing in any of your pockets and that you stand tall and relaxed while getting measurements taken. All measurements should be provided in centimetres or inches.

Waist - Measure around the body at the position you would like the trouser waistband to sit. Pull the tape measure as tight or as loose as you would like the trouser waist to fit. Ensure the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.

Seat- Measure around the widest part of the bottom, ensuring the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.

Inside Leg - Measure up inside the leg, as high as the tape measure will comfortably go, down to the desired plus fours hem. We suggest a standard length of 60cm/23.5 inches

The Fabric

We use a hard wearing, comfortable poly-viscose fabric woven in the UK to make your tartan Plus Fours. This fabric wears and washes well and is the perfect weight for men's trousers.

Making your Tartan Plus Fours

Our tartan plus fours are one of our best selling products and are a great combination of traditional Scottish manufacturing and modern style. We cut them in a more casual style than traditional plus fours so you can move freely and they fasten with Velcro below the knee which allows you to adjust them for comfort. A zip and button fastening, belt loops, 2 side pockets and one hip pocket finish them off. If you need any extra detail then please choose the Custom option and note the details on your order or contact us to check what we can do. Most things are possible!

The Length

As standard we make the tartan plus fours to a 23.5 inch inside leg. We can make to order in any length. Just click the Choose Custom Tartan button to select your tartan then enter your measurements. Please note that sizes over a 42 inch waist will incur a small surcharge.

Ian Poulter may have made tartan golf trousers famous in the press but we have been making them for years here in Scotland and you can choose from one of our stock tartans and sizes or a range of over 60 tartans made to measure. If the tartan you are looking for is not on the list please contact us as we may be able to make them for you in a lightweight wool.

How to care for your tartan Plus Fours

Your tartan golf trousers are made from machine washable poly-viscose - 65% polyester, 35% viscose - Machine washable at 40° C or less, do not tumble dry.
