How to Measure for your Tartan Shift Dress

Our tartan shift dress is the most stylish, yet easy to wear dress you can find, a wardrobe staple, falling from the shoulders to create a flattering silhouette.  Every dress is made to order, in the tartan of your choice, so we can accommodate any quirky sizes and special requests. You can choose the overall length of your tartan dress, as well as the sleeve length, with options from sleeveless to elbow length.  If you have a particularly long or short body just let us know and we can adjust the proportions for you so you really will have your perfect tartan dress, carefully made just for you.

To ensure that you get the perfect fit, be sure to follow our measuring tips and advice:

For the most accurate measurements, use a tailors tape measure and have a friend or family member measure for you. Ensure you have nothing in any of your pockets and that you stand tall and relaxed while getting measurements taken.

Waist - Measure around the body at the natural waist. Ensure the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.

Bust - Measure around the widest part of the bust. Please note this is a different measurement to a bra size, and so the bust measurement should not be taken from a bra label. Ensure the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.

Length - Measure from the nape of the neck straight down the back to the desired length of the dress.

Sleeve length - Measure from the top of the shoulder straight down the outside of the arm to the desired sleeve length. Take this measurement with your arm straight down by your side.

Seat - Measure around the widest part of the bottom, ensuring the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.

Once you have taken your measurements, our sizing guide below will help you to choose the correct size for your Tartan Shift Dress, however, if you require any further assistance with sizing or choosing from our vast range of tartans, our tartan team will be more than happy to help - get in touch or book a measuring appointment with one of our tailoring consultants.

How to Care for your Tartan Dress

Properly cared for your dress will last for years. This is a pure wool fabric and should be dry cleaned only. Wool fabric can become dull with general dust and dirt. Gentle brushing with a garment brush will brighten it up again.
