Spring 2019 - Ogilvie in Pleats

Spring is just around the corner and it will be worth the wait. After the cold wet days and dark evening with cosy woolly sweaters and pom pom hats we can look forward to the sunshine (hopefully), the lighter nights and the optimism of the brighter lighter fashion that spring brings.

Tartan Fine Pleated Skirt Ogilvie Fine Pleat tartan skirt

This year we are going bold. With neon and brights making a big appearance on the catwalk for Spring 2019 we have decided to show off one the more striking tartans in our range and showcase one of our new skirt styles. Introducing the Fine Pleated Skirt in Ogilvie of Airlie Ancient.

Pleats are here to stay and this fine pleat is so flattering, twisting and flowing, expanding and contracting with every move you make. If you are into your sewing, which surely you must be with the return of The Great British Sewing Bee, then this pleat is called the Sunray, a graduated accordion pleat that is pleated in a semi-circle, starting off very small at the hip and getting bigger closer to the hem. The busyness of the Ogilvie tartan lends itself perfectly to the style of this skirt, but of course you may have whatever tartan you like as these can be custom made in over 500 different tartans.

We love this skirt paired with our Bow Belt online or in our Edinburgh store.

There are lots more beautiful colours and spring wardrobe inspiration in our new Spring Summer catalogue out next week and you can see the highlights on our Spring Collection page online. If a brochure doesn't come through your letterbox please send us an email and we can post one out to you.
