We make our waistcoats in UK size 8 to 24 (US size 4 to 20) so we can cater for petite and plus sizes. Please note that our ladies waistcoats are made to a matrix, and so only minor adjustments can be made to our standard sizes. Any extra information on your shape size is always welcome to help us adapt the patterns to suit you.

For the most accurate measurements, use a tailors tape measure and have a friend or family member measure for you. Ensure that you stand tall and relaxed while getting measurements taken.
Waist - Measure around the body at the natural waist. Ensure the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.
Bust - Measure around the widest part of the bust. Please note this is a different measurement to a bra size, and so the bust measurement should not be taken from a bra label. Ensure the tape measure is straight across the front and back of the body.

The Fabric
We use a top quality lightweight 10oz tartan fabric woven in Scotland to make your waistcoat. If you want a heavier weight waistcoat we can also use a 13oz or 16oz wool. A surcharge will apply for heavier fabrics.

Buying a beautifully tailored item created from Scottish cloth is creating a classic piece for your wardrobe that will look good for years. The Detail
Your waistcoat is already an original as you choose the tartan and we tailor it to your measurements. But the fun doesn't end there and you can request so many details to make your waistcoat even more special. You can choose the colour of your lining and back of the waistcoat - be bold and go for a contrast colour or take a more sedate co-ordinating colour to suit the occasion, or we can of course make it with a tartan back if you prefer. Choose a simple cut or lapels in satin or velvet, buttonhole stitching can be emphasised to match a stripe or check. Button colours will match the base colour as standard or you can select any colour you like. Pocket styles changed to be jetted or flaps. Your waistcoat is made to measure just for you and you can choose from over 500 Scottish clan tartans. If you can't find the one you are looking for please ask as we may be able to source it for you.
How to care for your Tartan Waistcoat
Properly cared for your waistcoat will last for years. This is a pure wool fabric and should be dry cleaned only. Wool fabric can become dull with general dust and dirt. Gentle brushing with a garment brush will brighten it up again.
